Fighting Nemo
Well it finally happened - my fish finally duked it out. I have two cichlids in a tank in my room, and the yellow one (I never did get around to naming them) has always been aggressive towards the smaller, blue one.

About half an hour ago I glanced over and saw the blue one looking very pale and lying sideways on the bottom of the tank, with most of its fins badly torn. It was wiggling a bit but otherwise pretty close to dead. The yellow one swum around triumphantly, its face bruised but mostly unharmed. The plant that the blue one always hid behind was floating at the top of the water. Presumably what happened was that one of the fish dug into the gravel under the rock that held the plant down, which moved the rock and let the plant float to the surface. With this hiding place gone the blue one had nowhere to hide and the yellow one moved in for the kill.

Poor little bugger never had a chance. He'll be dead before the morning.
